Adam Sterry ninth at Assen

Adam Sterry of the F&H Racing Team took his Kawasaki to ninth overall in the Dutch round of the FIM World MX2 Motocross Championship at the sandy track built in front of the main grandstand at Assen.

The sand is laid down specially for this event at the famous tarmac venue and inevitably reacts slightly differently to the natural sandy tracks in the Netherlands and demanded full concentration at all times. Two falls during qualification on Saturday cost Sterry a better placing on the grid and he found himself chasing throughout both motos for his eventual tenth and eighth placed finishes in the two GP motos. Teammate Marshal Weltin also persevered in the conditions so strange to a rider brought up in the USA and was rewarded with fifteenth and thirteenth placings.

Adam Sterry: « The results are not really what I was hoping for, but after the two crashes on Saturday I didn't have such a good gate pick today. Eighth and tenth; my riding could have been so much faster, especially in the sand but the ground is strange here and I never felt completely comfortable all weekend. But it was the same for everyone and I should have been riding better in myself; now we’ll focus on the final round to end the season on a high."
