Kawasaki Dominates Dortmund Supercross

The Dortmund Supercross is the biggest indoor motorsports event in Germany and has been running for 35 years. This past weekend nearly 30.000 fans flocked into the Westfalenhalle to witness three days of action. Featuring the finale of the prestigious ADAC SX Cup, the race was dominated by Kawasaki like never before.

US rider Tyler Bowers owned the show by sweeping all three main events in the SX1 category. The 26 year-old Californian was never touched and convincingly crowned the new "King of Dortmund". Bowers secured the ADAC SX Cup title 2017/2018 with a crushing performance on Friday. The rider nicknamed "The Bear" never looked back the following two days, either.

"I won´t forget this crazy Dortmund weekend," Bowers said. "I came here 2012 for the first time and I enjoy returning. The track was tough, so was the competition."

Meanwhile Julien Lebeau controlled the SX2 class in much the same way. The Frenchman also won all his main events. Never in the history of the event has a team or brand dominated like the Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil riders did this time.

"What a weekend," smiled team owner Harald Pfeil. "We came here with high ambitions and determined to win. Taking the overall in Dortmund is always special. We've done it plenty in recent years in SX2. But to clinch the championship title in the King´s class, to see Tyler do what he did, and to have Julien dominate, that´s truly remarkable. It will go down in our team history as one of the best weekends ever. I´m over the moon for Kawasaki, the riders, our staff and the sponsors."
